Most Christian parenting content assumes a Western household. It is thoughtful and often excellent, and the pressures it describes are real — but they are not quite yours. It does not know about the extended family’s opinion on your child’s grades. It does not know about boarding school, or the third term fee balance, or what it means when relatives visit at Christmas.

These articles are written from inside the Kenyan context rather than translated into it.

That does not mean reinventing everything. Grace, honesty, patience and prayer travel perfectly well. But the situations are local: how to discipline a teenager who is home for the holidays after four months away, how to talk about dating when your own parents never discussed it with you, how to pray for a child who has stopped wanting to come to church.

We try to write about all of this without pretending it is simple, and without the tone that suggests any parent doing it properly would not be struggling. Struggling is not evidence of failure. It is mostly evidence of paying attention.
