Written for Teenagers

These are written to you, not about you. No lecture, no pretending, and no adult voice performing what it thinks teenagers sound like.

Everything else on this site is written to your parents. This part is written to you.

That means a few things. It means we are not going to pretend to be your age or use words we do not normally use. It means we are not going to open with a warning about screen time. And it means we are not going to tell you that everything you are feeling is a phase, because some of it is and some of it very much is not, and you can usually tell the difference better than anyone else can.

What we will do is take the questions seriously. Is it okay to doubt God? Actually okay, not “okay as long as you get over it quickly”? What do you do when everyone else’s life looks sorted and yours does not? How do you explain a feeling to your parents when you cannot explain it to yourself?

You are allowed to feel things. You are allowed to ask hard questions. You are more than your profile. Nobody here is going to judge you for any of that.

If you are in real trouble right now — not a bad week, actual trouble — please look at this page first. There are people in Kenya whose whole job is to help, and reaching them costs nothing.
